RULES:
Changes as voted by a majority of members at the Essendon Tournament, 25/09/05: Victorian Rule 12.2
a) Equipment: the TD may refuse use of unsuitable equipment.
b) Clocks: digital clocks take precedence over analogue clocks.
c) Rotating Boards: if one person wishes to use a rotating board, an approved rotating board takes precedence over a non-rotating board.
d) Seating: players will sit at right angles to each other if one player wishes to do so.
e) Rotation: when sitting at right angles, if players cannot agree on whether or not the board will be rotated to face one during one's own turn, the issue will be decided for that game by the drawing of a tile.
f) Score Sheets: personalised score sheets are allowed. However, all papers brought to the table, including separate tile-tracking sheets, may be examined by the opponent before the game.

Footnote:
*N.B. the only variation from the National Rules is Rule 12.2(d) concerning seating positions when playing with a rotating board. This variation was passed by a majority vote of members present at the Essendon Tournament on September 25th 2005. In the National Rules a dispute about seating is settled by the draw of a tile.

Rule 12.2 is no longer relevant because at the Annual General Meeting held on August 14 2011 the members present voted to accept the National Rules in full.
